About
Fullerton is a city of roughly 140,000 residents in northern Orange County, California, founded in 1887 by brothers George and Edward Amerige and named for railroad official George H. Fullerton. Once surrounded by orange groves and oil fields, today it is best known as a college town — home to California State University, Fullerton and Fullerton College — and for its walkable historic downtown along Harbor Boulevard, filled with restaurants, live music venues, and preserved early-1900s architecture. Fullerton also holds a special place in music history: Leo Fender developed his famous electric guitars here, and the city celebrates that legacy alongside landmarks like the Fullerton Arboretum, Hillcrest Park, and the restored Fox Theatre. With its mix of tree-lined neighborhoods, university energy, and small-town charm, Fullerton remains one of north Orange County's most beloved communities.
